Short duplex RNA units,mostly referred as small interfering RNAs (siRNAs),are regarded as the most powerfil tool in post-transcriptional gene silencing [1].However,the structural incompetency of siRNAs to form stable and effective nano-complexes with cationic pelymers still remains a major hurdle towards their clinical application.The functional adaptability of RNAi (RNA interference) machinery to accommodate unconventional RNA triggers have paved its way for the development of novel structural variants,devised to overcome the limitations posed by classical siRNA format.
