The hypermethylation of CpG island is a frequent change in the occurrence of cervical cancer, which leads to the silence of tumor suppressor genes.Because DNA methylation is reversible,and demethylation of CpG island may restore the function of tumor suppressor genes.Nucleoside analogues have a certain role in demethylation, but the clinical application is limited by its toxic and mutation.The natural trichosanthin (nTCS) has been found to induce apoptosis in HeLa cells from our early research.So this research focus on the demethylation of recombinant trichosanthin (rTCS).
