three types of CNFs,i.e.p-CNFs,fish-bone CNFs (f-CNFs) and tubular CNFs (t-CNFs),are synthesized and used as ORR electrocatalyst, and cyclic voltammetric experiments are carried out to investigate the influences of CNF microstructures on the ORR properties. The p-CNFs perform the highest ORR activity because they have higher ratio of edge atoms to basal atoms.Although f-CNFs have relative lower ratio of edge atoms to basal atoms than p-CNF,they have the highest ORR peak currents for their higher density of catalytic activity sites. The t-CNFs have the most negative ORR onset potential and the least ORR peak current for their lowest ratio of edge atoms to basal atoms. Moreover, the results show that the microstructures of CNFs can change the ORR process.
