Recent evidence demonstrates that both copper amine oxidase (CuAO) and phospholipase D (PLD) are involved in abscisic acid (ABA)-induced stomatal closure.In this study, we investigated the interaction between CuAO and PLD in the ABA response.Pre-treatment with CuAO and/or PLD inhibitors led to the impairment of ABA-induced H2O2 production and stomatal closure in Vicia faba, with an additive effect.ABA-stimulated PLD activation could not be inhibited by CuAO inhibitor, and CuAO activity was not affected by PLD inhibitor.
