By hardness and tensile test、OM、TEM and SEM observations, the effect of Sc on microstructure and tensile properties of Al-Li-Cu-Mg-Ag-Zr alloys has been studied. The results show that addition of Sc in the alloys can retard the aging, make T1 phase precipitation in grains distribute more homogeneously and smaller, make T1 phase precipitation in subgrain boundary and grain boundary smaller and have no PFZ in grain boundary in T8 tempers. So the addition of Sc improves ductility and fracture model, And widespread precipitation of T1 phase promotes homogeneous deformation. Therefore the mechanical properties of the alloys containing trace Sc are improved. And fracture shape of the alloy containing Sc is thin-layer shape + intracrystalline and grain boundary mixture fracture model.
