Heterotopic tissues in the mucosal region of the digestive tract are a well-described occurrence.Only rare reports of salivary gland tissue presenting as a choriostoma have been previously reported in the lower digestive tract. In the esophageal region, these most commonly involve gastric mucosa. This case report details an occurrence of heterotopic salivary gland tissue in the esophageal mucosa of a 60-year-old man who presented with intermittent belching, regurgitation and abdominal pain, and an esophageal polypoid mass which was resected under the endoscopy.
