In recent years DNA nanostructures and DNA hybrids have become important materials for diagnostic and biomedical applications.[1] Especially the combination of synthetic polymers with DNA allowed the evolution of new functions.Various synthetic strategies for the generation of linear, single stranded (ss) and double stranded (ds) DNA block copolymers (DBCs) were developed relying on fully automated processes using a DNA synthesizer,[2] on hybridization or on molecular biology techniques like the polymerase chain reaction.
