  Gas diffusion electrodes were now applied in the process of brine electrolysis in chlor-alkali industry to save energy.In order to promote the efficiency of the chlor.-alkali electrolysis, the current in the electrodes should be elevated from the standard value of 300mAcm-2.In actual industrial operation, the unexpected overload and interruption will also degrade the properties of the electrode.In this article, an accelerated degradation procedure (ADP) was applied in 12h-on/12h-off cycles for 700h under high current density in 30%NaOH solution at 80±2℃ to imitate the actual industry condition, so as to guide the preparation of highly-durable electrode.
