Lithium salts play a critical role in initiating electrochemical reactions in Li-ion batteries.Single Li ions dissociate from bulk-salt and associate with carbonates to form a solid electrolyte interface(SEI)during the first charge-discharge of the battery.SEI formation and the chemical stability of salt must both be controlled and optimized to minimize irreversible reactions in SEI formation and to suppress the decomposition of the salt at high temperatures.
