To investigate the characteristic of casualty in parachute training and the psychological factor.METHODS:Four hundred recruits were investigated on the injury incidence on the ground training and parachute training; the personality types of wounded soldiers and the cause of mishaps in paratroop training were also investigated.RESULTS:The injury incidence on the ground training was 23.5%,incidence of shinbone stress fracture was as high as 8.8%; the injury incidence on the parachute training was 11.0%.Sixty percent of the wounded soldiers were in unstable mood.Excessive stress may express the partial causes of mishap in parachute training.CONCLUSIONS:Most injuries in parachute training were shinbone stress fracture,ankle and lumbar strain.The casualty in parachute training is related to excessive training,introvert character unstable mood and overmuch stress.
