The spatial distribution of membrane proteins is critical for receptor activation and downstream signaling.Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a receptor tyrosine kinase regulating cell growth,proliferation,differentiation and migration.Here,we used a technique which has shattered the resolution barrier of light diffraction,direct stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (dSTORM),to investigate the distribution of EGFRs in cell membranes.
