Reliability-based concepts are nowadays widely accepted in bridge design and assessment.As known, the numerical values of the parameters which define the geometrical and mechanical properties of this kind of structures are affected mainly by the uncertainties to structure capacity and seismic demand[1, 2].In a realistic seismic financial loss cannot be considered as deterministic quantities.In the present study the uncertainties of the damage state of a bridge can be modeled using a fuzzy criterion in which the model is not defined through a set of fixed values, but through bands of values, bounded between suitable minimum and maximum extremes[3].The reliability problem is formulated at the risk level of seismic hazard, with reference to several serviceability and ultimate limit states.
