The main methods of recovering gold from acid thiourea solution contain: activated carbon adsorption method,replacement precipitation method,solvent extraction and ion exchange resin method[1,2].The ion exchange resin method is recognised to be very effective and at a low cost[3].Hence this method was adopted in our study.The leach liquor was obtained by leaching sulfuric acid-slag with thiourea solution.The optimized condition of leaching process was: leaching time 8 h,leaching temperature 50 °C,sulfuric acid 10%,thiourea 15 g/L and the ratio of liquid to solid 3:1.Under this condition,the extraction ratio of gold was 89.1%.The ion exchange resins employed in this paper contained: 732,XJ133,LSD-001,LX-50,HZ190 and ICM001,which were generally used in extraction of gold and other metals from thiourea solution[4,5].In preliminary experiment the adsorption efficiency of gold by ICM001 was better than by other resins under the same condition.For further research,ICM001 resin was applied and the effects of resin dosage,adsorption time,adsorption temperature and adsorption times were investigated.The results showed that the adsorption ratio (75.3%) was highest when resin dosage 8 g/L,time 2 h,temperature 20 °C.Then followed were two steps and three steps adsorption experiments,and their adsorption efficiency was just a little higher than one step adsorption.The results by static adsorption was not so satisfied because there was distribution equilibrium of gold between resin and solution.Therefor the danymic adsorption was put forward and the corresponding experiments were carried out through ion exchange column (Ф 12 mm).The effects of column height and flowing rate of leach liquor were studied,and the results showed that the satisfied adsorption ratio (93.5%) was acquired when flowing rate 0.5 mL/min and column height 2 cm.
