Objective: Increasing evidences have proved the correlation between obesity and periodontitis.Previously,we have showed significantly decreased osteogenic molecules in femur and vertebra of ob/ob mice.However,osteogenic properties of osteoblast progenitors in inflammatory microenvironment are still not clear.The purpose of this study was to investigate osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells derived from bone marrow of ob/ob mice by stimulation of lipopolysaccharide.Alizarin red staining,alkaline phosphatase staining,akaline phosphatase acitivity and RT-PCR were performed to provide laboratory evidences for periodontitis prevention in obese individuals.
