Although as a promising alternative energy, biomass is restricted to widely economic distribution by its low energy density and the resultantly high transportation cost.By condensing loose raw material to concrete solid fuels, biomass pellet and briquette technologies addressed this challenge and made itself a popular energy comedy in western countries. However, even with some political incentives like financial subsidies and tax returns, the pellet/briquette industry is rather undeveloped in China. This study finds out a nationwide unification weakened policies efficiency, and moreover establishes a regionalized production model considering different policy variables.Data from actual plants are applied to validate the simulation models; benefit/cost ratio method is employed to evaluate different policy portfolios in each region; the most optimal policies recommendation is finally provided for promote biomass pellets and briquettes production in China.
