In this paper, we developed a detailed pancreaticβ-cells model by focusing on two important slow negative feedback mechanisms--a slowly activating subspace Ca2+-dependent K current KCa (Kslow), and ATP-sensitive K current controlled by a nucleotide oscillation (ADP/ATP ratio), where three slow processes with different time scales are subspace Ca2_ concentration, cSS, ER Ca2+ concentration (Cer), and the Ca-dependent ADP/ATP ratio (a), respectively.Complex patterns of bursting action potentials and Ca2+ bursting oscillations are exhibited in the model.
