Apple tree architecture and fruit quality are two composite traits that largely determine the crop production efficiency, marketability, and/or profitability.To develop functional predictive DNA markers to enable marker-assisted breeding, we have been investigating the underlying genetic and molecular mechanisms responsible for their natural variations.
