Based on the mathematical models of coupled fluid flow and deformation in Fluid-saturated porous media proposed by the author, the governing equations for 2D flow in confined aquifer are obtained, then compared with the traditional equation. Combining the aforementioned equations and definite conditions, the self-contained mathematical models and definite problem for 2D flow and deformation coupling in confined aquifer are constructed. And a numerical case is studied, and the distribution of the pore pressure is given. It indicates the coupled model can more accurately characterize the physical essence of flow process in confined aquifer than the uncoupled one. As the pore pressure decreases, the dissipation of pore pressure becomes rapider and rapider. The coupling effect inside the aquifer is strong, while it is much weaker near the boundary due to the constraint of boundary conditions. It is very helpful for us to further understand the mechanism of production induced land (surface) subsidence and better serve the related engineering practice.
