It was reported that phytoremediation has emerged as a brand new technology to address heavy metal contaminated soil.Populus×canescens, a hybrid of Populus tremula L.×Populus alba L..To investigate the effect of Cd on poplar anti-oxidant ability as well as the relation between Cd chelation and ability of Cd tolerance and hyperaccumulation in plant.Thus, our study is dedicated to the intracellular Cd2+ distribution was observed using transmission electron microscope technique, which further confirmed the existence and function of Cd2+ tolerance mechanism in grey poplar.
