　　Split-ring resonator (SRR) is a kind of common building block in plasmonic metamaterials, which has attracted wide attentions due to its particular resonant behaviors. Here, a novel type of SRR, called vertical split-ring resonator (VSRR) is designed and investigated, including the fundamental resonances and its potential applications in optics.
