Mesocarbon microbeads(MCMBs)were heat treated at low temperature(below 1000℃)for different time(1h-8h).The results of SEM,XRD and Raman spectroscopy indicated that the carbonization samples belonged to low temperature carbons, but the micro-crystals on the surface of the treated MCMBs became ordered with the increasing of carbonization time.Electrochemical measurements were then carried out to evaluate the anode performances of samples in lithium-ion baaeries. The sample of carbonization at 800℃ for 6h shows an initial Coulomb efficiency up to79.3%and reversible capacity of 516.9 mAh·g-1,meanwhile,the charge capacity remained above 450 mAh·g-1 and the cycle efficiency was close 100%even after 30 cycles of charge/discharge tests. The long time carbonization resulted in the increase of ordered surface carbon structure of MCMBs,which effectively prevents the irreversible electrochemical reaction on MCMB surface.
