Oncidiums are the important cut flower crops in the world.Oncidium has complex and diverse genetic source, with low current breeding efficiency. In vitro pollination techniques can overcome the pre-fertilization barriers, and in vitro fruiting can reduce fruit drop.In the study, the in vitro pollination and fruiting technology was established in oncidium breeding. In vitro flowering of the Erycina pusilla (L.) williams & chase as the maternal parent.and was crossed with viable sterile pollinia derived from the show-colored flower buds of Tolumnia were steriled and cultured in vitro, the pollen germination rate was 27.6 %-61.4 %.The fruit set was 20 %-45.5 %of Erycina pusilla crossed with the Tolumnia cultivars in vitro, and have offspring after being sown. The offspring analyzed by using flow cytometryprove that the hybrid genome size between two parents. This study was the first report that application in vitro pollination techniques on successful completion of the cross-pollination of Oncidium.
