Poly(lactic acid)(PLA)has attracted much attention in recent years,due to its biodegradability,biocompatibility,and good processibility.However,the PLA material has low thermal-resistant temperature,which has limited its wide application.Stereocomplexed PLA(sc-PLA)has a melt temperature of ca.230 ℃,which is 50 ℃ higher than the conventional PLA material.Therefore,stereocomplex crystallization of poly(L-lactic acid)(PLLA)and poly(D-lactic acid)(PDLA)has been considered as a promising method to improve the thermal and mechanical properties of PLA-based polymers.However,the stereocomplex crystallization just takes place in the PLLA/PDLA enantiomeric blends with the low molecular weights.For the high-molecular-weight PLLA/PDLA blends,only the homo-crystals with lower melting point were formed.In this study,we proposed several methods such as block copolymerization,miscible blending,hydrogen-bonding interactions,and heterogeneous nucleation to promote the stereocomplex crystallization and diminish the homo-crystallization of high-molecular-weight PLAs.
