In this study, the process of a Tibet plateau vortex at August 14, 2006 was simulated with the new generation of the mesoscale numerical model WRF version 3.1.1 which was developed by NCAR/NCEP.The simulation use triple nested domains and the result seems good.Then we analyzed the basic physical quantity of the vortex from its generation to die using the high resolution model output data.The result shows that the process of vortex has a close relationship with water vapor transport and sensible heat transfer flux at Tibet Plateau.At the mature stage of Tibet plateau vortex, it has very weak vertical motion in the center compared to the outer area, and there is a warm core in the center like an eye which is calm.Further more at the developing and mature stage of the vortex, the distribution of velocity divergence, vorticity and potential vorticity all showing a certain degree of fluctuant.This distribution form is similar to the tropical cyclone but weaker.And some strongly developed Tibet plateau vortex may have spiral cloud bands.
