Michellamine B, originally isolated from tropical liana Ancistrocladuskorupensis in Cameroon, has gained significant interest as a strong HIV-1 and HIV-2 agent.Structurally, it derives from heterodimerization of antimalarial atropdiastereomeric natural products Korupensamine A and Korupensamine B.Although there have been considerable synthetic efforts, a scalable and stereoselectivesynthesis of Michellamine B remains highly desirable. This presentation will discuss our recent advances toward efficient syntheses of Michellamine B.
