Aluminized films are well known in the packaging area and have conventionally grown in use over few decades.Recent,development of plasma processes has consequently shown the potential for the deposition of transparent thin film barrier materials based on oxides of silicon and aluminum that give similar performance as an aluminization process without the opaque nature of a metal layer.
