Rational antibiotic therapy should take into account three parameters, which interact with one another: An organism with its immune system; A pathogenic factor responsible for an infection; And an antibiotic The principal aim of using antibiotic is to eradicate quickly the pathogen from the organism not disturbing its physiological functions or immunity.New generation macrolides have synergic activity with the immune system. The investigations were carried out on 40 patients with advanced neoplastic diseases diagnosed with pneumonia.Twenty patients treated according to the previous standards i.e.with cephalosporins type Ⅱ and Ⅲ were the control group while the other20 patients were given combination therapy i.e.a cephalosporin type Ⅲ and a macrolide.
