Social network analysis studies social relationship between actors in order to understand the formation of social structures.A key challenge in social network study is how to distinguish the potential relationships and explain the complexity of social behavior based on the available data.In recent years, huge amount of Big-Data has been accumulated from scientific fields, industry, business, and government, which provide an unprecedented opportunity to analyze social networks. This talk will discuss some recent advances in applying Bayesian inference methods, which is a very successful method to extract valuable information from a wide variety of big data,to analyze social network models.
