In the paper"List of species name for the Bacillus-like bacteria",Liu et al.had collated the reported the Bacillus-like bacteria till the end of December 2014,which reached up to 71 genera 752 species,but only the genera and species with a suffix"bacillus"were included.In this paper,we provided the following taxonomic information of the Bacillus-like bacteria:(1)species number,changes in systematic status,and new species reported in 2015-2016 of each genus with a suffix"bacillus";(2)taxonomic progress of the spore-forming genera without a suffix"bacillus"in 7 Family;(3)Chinese names of each genus and spieces not included by"List of species name for the Bacillus-like bacteria";and(4)the systematic status of the non-Bacillus-like genera with a suffix"bacillus".By the end of December 2016,the Family Bacillaceae contains at least 69 genera,they are spore-forming bacteria except 7 genera Calditerricola,Geomicrobium,Marinococcus,Microaerobacter,Saccharococcus,Salinimicrobium,and Salisediminibacterium,of which include at least 604 species;the Family Alicyclobacillaceae is composed of at least 6 genera 46 species which are all spore-forming bacteria;the Family Paenibacillaceae consists of at least 10 genera 321 species with spore-forming property;the Family Pasteuriaceae has only 1 genus with 4 spore-forming species;the Family Planococcaceae includes at least 15 genera,except for 5 genera Caryophanon,Chryseomicrobium,Filibacter,Planococcus,and Planomicrobium,the other 10 genera with 49 species can form endospores;the Family Sporolactobacillaceae contains at least 6 genera,besides the genus Sinobaca,5 genera 20 species belong to all spore-forming bacteria;the Family Thermoactinomycetaceae possesses at least 17 genera 36 species,most of which exhibit the strong stress resistance and spore-forming properties;additionally,1 new genus is affiliated an unestablised Family.Therefore,the Bacillus-like bacteria consist of at least 1078 species 112 genera wthin 8 Families altogether.
