Reverse flotation desilication with cationic collector is the key to the efficient utilization of Chinese diasporic bauxite,which involves two concurrent processes,the strengthened collection of gangue,such as kaolinite,and the selective depression of diaspore.Natural organic polymers like starch and its derivatives are non-toxic and biodegradable; whats more,they bear large number of hydroxyl groups that provide the polymers strong hydrophilic character.Accordingly,starches were widely employed in forth flotation in recent years [1],especially in the depression of hematite [2].In view of the high similarity of these treatments,we are interested in the introduction of starch and its derivatives into the reverse flotation of diasporic bauxite.
