Solar UV-B radiation (280-320 nm),increasing with ozone depletion,is known to harm aquatic organisms.Although enforcement of the Montreal Protocol has slowed down the ozone depletion,increasing UV radiation (UVR,280-400 nm) at different latitudes has been still observed,probably due to cloud cover changes and continuous ozone reduction influenced by climate change.In this study,the effects of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR,400-700 nm),ultraviolet-A (UV-A,320-400 nm) and ultraviolet-B (UV-B,280-320 nm) radiation on respiration,ammonia excretion and survival ofcopepod Pseudodiaptomus marinus (herbivorous) and Labidocera bipinnata (omnivorous) collected from Xiamen Bay.
