　　A major focus in the field of neuroimaging is to move beyond simply identifying patterns of neural activation(i.e.,the timing and location of activation)towards characterization of the functional connectivity underlying various brain functions.Brain connectivity is intrinsically directed,multi-layered,and characterized by distinct connectivity weights between discrete neural elements.
