Background:Innate immune system plays an important role in opposing pathogen invasion through certain mechanisms such as phagocytosis and secretion of inhibitory molecules.As an important component of the innate immune system, inflammasomes are multi-protein complexes which can convert pro-caspase-1 into its active form, the latter process pro-IL-1β into its mature form.
