Glycans attached to proteins is fundamentally different to the expression of proteins and it have been associated with states of health and disease.The applications of the analysis of glycans in biological research, clinical analysis, and pharmaceutical biotechnological production were increasing.However, glycan analysis is not straightforward due to their nature low abidance and complicated structures.Mass spectrometry is one tool that can be used to study glycoconjugates or glycan sequence, but the challenge of linkage analysis, isomerization, and interpretation must be overcome with sophisticated analyses.With the nature advantages in low sample consumption and polar sample separation, CE turned out to be a powerful separation tools which could couple with MS.However, the common labeling agents could not fit the requirements of CE/MS.
