As the largest tributary of the Yellow River, the Wei River is the Mother River of Guanzhong Plain in Shaanxi Province, China.It plays an important role in the development of West China, the ecosystem health and sustainable socio-economic development in the Yellow River basin.However, the Wei River basin is suffering from insufficient water supply, water quality pollution, and scarce ecological and environmental water use.
