Mucin-type O-glycosylation is one of the most abundant and important post-translational modifications,which have been implicated in a range of biological processes.The diversity of O-glycan in many proteins has been found to accompany disease states and display different functions in animal development.Identifying mucin-type O-glycoproteins,determining the O-glycosylated sites and charactering the O-glycan structures could help people deeper understand this glycosylation,which were yet great challenges in biology.
