Methane conversion into more valuable chemical products has been investigated by many research groups.Various methods have been reported such as catalytic oxidation,photocatalytic oxidation,and plasma activation.The thermodynamically unfavorable reaction of dehydrogenative coupling of methane can be realized under plasma,because energized electrons colliding with methane molecules may produce radicals such as CH3·,CH2·,CH·,which then combine into C2 products through effective collisions.In order to obtain higher C2 hydrocarbons selectivity and yield,catalysts were applied usually.
