Fast microalgae species monitoring is necessary for detection of ballast water.The most traditional method for monitoring microalgae species is by using microscope.Microalgae species is judged by human eyes and it needs a well-trained personnel and usually laborious and inaccurate due to the identification results often depend on the operators experience.In this paper, we developed a new microalgae identification system on a disposable microfluidic chip by using 3 dimensional signals: Side scattered light, chlorophyll fluorescence and resistance pulse sense(RPS).
