In the early years of the 20th century either Biochemistry education or research were not popular in China.In 1915 Biochemistry first appeared in school timetable in Peking Xie-He Medical School.In 1928 the first Biochemistry department was established in the same medical school and Prof.H.Wu was the department dean.Wu proposed a protein denaturation theory in 1931 and his theory is now widely accepted.
