Experimental Research of Rotor Vibration Frequency Variation with the Yaw Angle

  Dynamic and static frequency of the rotor about diameter of 1.4m small horizontal axis wind turbine was tested in different conditions by using PULSE16.1 structural vibration analysis system.The conclusions found that vibration frequency of axial moving、Gyroscopic effect、first order and second order of rotor decreased with the increase of the yaw angle.The reason is that in the process of the yaw,aerodynamic force on the rotor reduced while centrifugal force also reduced.In the process of yaw,when vibration frequency of the axial motion and the gyroscopic effect is close to or equal,the resonance phenomenon of wind turbine occurs.The study also found,the yaw of wind turbine had a greater impact on first and second order antisymmetric vibration frequency than the symmetric vibration frequency effect.This paper related research results can provided a theoretical support for the Small Wind Turbine Structural Dynamics performance design.
