Microwave sintering is now received considerable attention due to its advantages such as rapid heating,low energy consumption,low sintering temperature,and improvement in sample properties.In the present study,microwave sintering is carried out to prepare SiC-kaolinite composites.A microwave chamber with dual resonant multimode is designed for the frequency of 2450 MHz and 915 MHz.Temperature is monitored by an infrared optical fiber.Heating is conducted with a simple insulation structure free of aided heater.
