  In this talk,an overview will be given of numerical methods that have been developed specifically for the simulation of semiconductor devices.Special methods for the discretization and nonlinear solution will be discussed,and it will be shown why standard methods fail.The methods developed can be formulated in an abstract mathematical way.The methodology can also be used for organic devices like OLEDs.
