Soil microorganisms are susceptible to environmental changes in the microbial community structure and function.Understanding their interaction in response toenvironmental changes is a central issue in ecologybut is very challenging in microbial ecologydueto their extremely high diversity and as-yet uncultivated status. In this study,we compared soil microbial communities from two different natural mature forest types:coniferous forest(CF)and mixed broadleaf-conifer forest(MBF)at the Shennongjia Mountain in the Central China.
