Lots of studies have shown that many dermatoses are caused by the disturbances of the dynamic equilibrium established between the nervous, endocrine and immune systems instead of single reason, which make dermatosis difficult to cure and raise complicated problems in the development of new drugs.Is it the way offering new ideas for the development of drugs against vitiligo? The results showed that the psychic stress can inhibit the hair follicle melanin synthesis in C57BL/6 mice.Chronic stress could inhibit the melanin synthesis by increasing the expression of neuropeptide SP and decreasing the level of 5-HT in mice skin samples.Chronic stress could promote mast cell degranulation and release several kinds of mediates which activated mast cell by SP and CGRP, result in promoting melanocytes apoptosis.SP plays an important role in the melanocytes apoptosis induced by chronic stress.The antidepressant fluoxetine could directly promote the melanin synthesis, which was mediated partly by 5-HT1A receptor.Moreover, fluoxetine and AV extraction could promote the melanin synthesis via neural system regulation.
