Generally, iterative numerical calculating or computational fluid dynamic approach can solve the shock waves in a high temperature environment. However, analytical solutions are hardly available due the transcendental dependence of thermodynamic parameters on temperature. In the present work, a self-consistent analytical solution to a normal or oblique shock wave is derived from the conservation laws one-dimensional high temperature gas flow under the assumption of a prior known ratio of specific heat.Parameter study is then conducted for shock waves of moderate strength where dissociation of molecules is negligible.
