Acquired aplastic anemia (AA) is a bone marrow-failure syndrome in which bone marrow (BM) hematopoietic progenitors are attacked by autologous cytotoxic T lymphocytes.Decreased numbers and impaired function of CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ regulatory T cells (Tregs) have been implicated in the pathogenesis of AA.
