Quercetin 2,3-dioxygenase (2,3-QD) activates molecular dioxygen to catalyze the oxidative degration of polyphenolic flavonols.The copper active site of 2,3-QD exhibits two different forms,one of which consists three His and one H2O to form a distorted tetrahedron geometry,whereas in the other form the carboxylate of Glu73 coordinated to Cu(Ⅱ) directly to form a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry.
