Graphene, a single layer of sp2-hybridized carbon atoms, has been considered an ideal substrate for the growth of Pd nanoparticles for good electrocatalytic performance due to its high conductivity and large surface area12.In this work, graphite oxide (GO) was prepared using the modified Hummers method.Treatment with aliphatic amine in the presence of alkali metal lead to the effective deoxygenation and surface amination of GO, which provides a strong interaction between graphene sheet and Pd nanoparticles.By varying the reduction condition of GO and the starting concentration of Pd, size and density-control of Pd nanoparticles on graphene sheets were achieved.
