It's particularly difficult to control the spontaneous fire in the coal bunker due to a large amount of heat stored in the loose coal with high temperature.Explosion is vulnerable to take place as a large number of explosive gases accumulating in the coal bunker encounters fire source.Based on analysis of the spontaneous combustion in the coal bunker of Guohong chemical industry Co., Ltd, thermal infrared imager was used to monitor high temperature fire in coal Bunker.It detected that the total burning area is about 10m2.and the location is 3m away from the unloading ports.Liquid carbon dioxide direct release and infuse technology were employed to extinguish the fire.The explosive gases in the bunker were replaced with carbon dioxide and temperature of the coal was degraded, which prevented explosion effectively, Finally, water is drenched from the top of the coal bunker to extinguish the fire completely.The coking coal body near the unloading ports is then cut off with high-pressure water making it easier to unload all the coal in the bunker.The technique is an efficient, safe, cost-effective one and suitable for controlling spontaneous coal fire in the enclosed space.
