With the recent progress in ion trap techniques as well as in the setup of intensive light sources in EUV and x-ray domain, such as fourth-generation synchrotron facilities or variously proposed free-electron lasers, also with the recent advancements in the design of position-sensitive solid-state detectors, experimental in the photoionization of highly charged ions and the linear polarization and angular distribution of x-ray lines following the inner-shell photoionization of highly charged ions have now became more likely to be carried out in the future.Also required detailed theoretical predictions in order to select candidate systems and to interpret their outcome.
